That was my thread, where I was asking myself why while I was coming down. This is a little more objective.
I used them because, really I have no idea. I just found myself wanting to try them. Once I used mushrooms for the first time THEN I knew why, but now I don't really know anymore. Really all I do anymore is beerweed. Haven't tripped in many months. And I'd like to stop the beerweed too.

Couldn't resist replying 
Everyone says that people do it for whatever reason...To get away..To feel happy, Whatever...Basically every reason NOT TO.
I use to be one of those people...And I've come to find that Most people do it for ALL the wrong reasons, but some dont...
I don't do it to feel happy, or b/c I grew up in a broken home.
I use them in moderation like everything else.
Like work for example isn't a drug but it done excessivily it can ruin a marriage, run a family, ruin your social life ect ect.
Same thing with sex...well some people Can do it all the time and be cool with it, but sometimes (talking about serious relationships) it can ruin things...It ends up being all you do, or all you talk about...ect ect..
Almost every drug started as something good until it became abused..
I don't really smoke much anymore or trip on anything or get fucked up like I use to.
I started doing them because I was curious...But as I did them more (mainly the mushrooms made me think of this), I realized that it was better to do them to get different views on things, use them to your advantage, and to use them in moderation...
But most people as to weak and just use them to hide the pain. My best friends mother did that and it ran her to her death. It sucked.
Drugs can either make you or break you.
