Teen angst. Why must you hinder my spirit?!
    #4475569 - 07/31/05 01:25 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

As an 18 year old kid I often feel that I am facing an antagonist that is way too big, and established to beat. I'm sure most of you have had similar feelings. I have trouble understanding why I can't do certain things (ie Being at the park after dark, even assembling a simple game of frisbee) It seems almost anytime I get in good spirits and have faith in man kind I'm only shot down by others for no reason. I live in a small town, and a frisbee game can't even be held at the local park without the police showing up to check everyone out. I suppose this isn't so bad, but this is only the least of it. Today I was detained because a friend of mine popped a balloon, which was obstructing view of an intersection anyways. I was placed under a sort of citizen's arrest until the cops came. How ridiculous is that? The locals and police will find any way possible to break up any outdoor event, even if it is all in good spirits. They get to talking about property owners, curfews, and all that blab blab woop woop, and I just don't understand why they have to care. Can't they just disregard what's going on as long as we're not hurting anyone? What rights do I have as an American citizen to refuse their orders in my pursuit of happiness. Does the right to assemble peacefully override the park rules?

I suppose I don't really know the purpose of this thread. I just wanted to hear ideas and concerns of the shroomery community.

I like to organize events and get people involved in my local community. For example, I always host barbecues, frisbee games and other things, but it seems that the morale is dying down. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to keep the interest? It's really hard to keep people together without free booze.

Lots of parks have a curfew because if they don't it attracts drug addicts who want to sleep or do drugs there, trust me I know. But that balloon popping thing is stupid. I totally agree that we should be able to do whatever as long as we're not hurting people but I guess you could pop a balloon and then a baby will find a piece and suffocate on it, right?  :whatever:

The Internet is keeping everyone indoors, I gave up on it a long time ago and am stuck online now.  If it were up to me I'd sew my lips to a bong and surf the web all day... funny as I would be someone you consider losing morale but I like it this way...  people suck and government just gives me a headache

The balloon thing was so incredibly ridiculous because I was placed under citizen's arrest because this guy that put the balloons there blocked my car in, which blocked off a road, and he sat there yelling at me and wouldn't even let me move my car somewhere for a more reasonable place to discuss this popped balloon. He finally let me move, and then he called the police.

I'm so baffled as to why the police didn't give him the rhetoric.

Here are a list of his violations.

He put a sign on a corner of a road that blocked a blind intersection, he also put distracting balloons there.

Obstructed a road.

The guy detained me.

It was a fucking balloon.

We were planning on fleeing, but me and my friend failed to coordinate as I was in a vehicle, and he was out talking to him.

Man, you and I are exactly the same. Except I'd glue a beer bong.
