Well I spent a good 6 hours of fruitless (ha) hunting for azurescens in Astoria, Hammond, and Seaside Oregon yesterday. Surprisingly, I didn't see anyone else looking, so I guess I was in the wrong spot. I haven't done this before and I very easily could have been in the wrong place. I was at the marina in Hammond and it looked like all the dune grass had been recently trampled, but a variety of mushrooms were there. In Astoria I was just checking off the main roads anywhere I could pull off. In Seaside I was in the dunes in the northern part of town. I was close enough to see the ocean. Was I too close to find them? Should I have been further on the land side? Help me please, I'm only an hours drive from there and I want some azures this year!
BTW, if someone wants to meet me on tuesday or wednesday I'll give them 30 grams of syrian rue and a box of low-form half-pint jars in exchange for a little guideing. I can be in Astoria any time in the morning. I think I know why I wasn't finding any (wrong place) but a little help can't hurt.
