Yes there is..do a seach on for example..www.google.com
for reseach chemicals..or read up on extracting DMT from various herbs..

been there, done that, it wasn't a DEA list I or list II chemicle... so what are the legal baricades? Also, if anyone knows how to find "appendex g" of some document at the dea that lists all watched stuff, let me know, I couldn't find it :) Not that I'll ever get around to doing anything about this, doing bores me, it's all about the reading.

WOW. i found a site selling T.hcl for 55 bucks for 2 grams!, 155$ for 10 grams! This sounds very expensive, or do u use only alittle per jar. ?

Though it is true that not much was used (160mg) in the experiment you cite, 25mM (millimolar) is a pretty concentrated solution, especially for such an expensive chemical. What that means is for every liter of water you use in your substrate, 3.5 grams of tryptamine is added.
That would get expensive fast, and makes it an interesting but not really practical experiment. I'd say you'd be better off growing 3 times as many mushrooms and skipping the tryptamine.
Now if someone could find an amino acid or some other cheap amendment that would have the same effect, that would be useful. Unfortunately, tryptophan, the obvious bioprecursor to tryptamine and psilocybin, is not an effective amendment (apparently extra trp is not absorbed/utilized).
Now a cool experiment would be to add a tryptamine analog, like 5Meo-tryptamine, 5Meo-DMT, DET, or DPT, each of which would likely be conveted into their 4-OH/4-PO4 counterparts, making (some) entirely novel, all totally exotic compounds.

Thats where using substrates high in tryptamine content come in handy. Such as grains.

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I have a feeling grains don't have more tryptamine hcl... if they did, one would see a MARKED increase in potentcy... (ala, 3x) still looking for information on why someone couldn't just buy a bunch of this stuff and sell it in 10g lots as long as they included the MSDS (material safty data sheet, right? or are the words in the wrong order :)

Well, grains are a common substrate, and mushrooms grown on grains are known to have more realiable potency than wild specimens, so maybe they ARE stronger.
I don't think grain is known to have tryptamine in it in any appreciable quantities, and I suspect any potency increase is due to simpler nutritional factors. (At least one source says higher glucose levels can increase potency, perhaps rye is "sweeter" than other substrates. See The Mushroom Entheogen, C.B. Gold, Psychedelic Monographs & Essays v. 6 for more info.)
Tryptamine IS available from at least one online supplier, AFAIK. But I still say it isn't worth the trouble.
Why do we often find it necessary to strengthen substances that are perfectly effective in their "natural" state? (Coca->cocaine->crack, wine->everclear). Seems like a waste of time & money in this instance.
Take 5g of your average mushrooms and then tell me they're not strong enough.

"natural?" ok, the mushroom converts tryptamine to dmt, the dmt to 4-ohdmt (or something like that) the point is to experiment and have some fun. don't bring "natural" arguments into this all.
I repeat, are there any legal manuvers one must pull to get tryptamine hcl, there are tons of sources.

Whoa, I knew I'd get into trouble with that one. I thought maybe the quotation marks would help, but I guess not.
There are no legal restrictions to acquiring tryptamine. There are no reasons why there should be since it is a totally inactive compound. (Unless you wanted to turn it into DMT, that is . . .)
There are many sources, even a few who don't give a damn what you want it for . . .
