Summer wedding attire etiquette
    #4469273 - 07/29/05 03:44 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

I've got a wedding to go to tomorrow. Does anyone know if a suit coat is expected for a summer wedding? It is inside church so it probably wouldn't kill me...

The thing is, the only decent jacket I have is rather wooley and I can't find any pants to match so I'd have to go buy some. Or I could just wear some nice slacks with a shirt and tie and not buy anything.

My wife's a bride's maid and I don't want to look trashy either. Any advice would be appreciated!

I think a nice pair of dress pants with a shirt and tie would be just fine. Is the reception outside?

Nope, it's inside too. If it were outside, I'd definately forget about the jacket.

You could wear a jacket, and then after the actual ceremony, take off the jacket, loosen the tie, and roll your sleeves up.  You'd be much more comfy.  This is one aspect where it's great to be a girl

No suit jackets or ties
