things to say...
    #4468388 - 07/29/05 11:49 AM (12 years, 24 days ago)

A systems seems to be built here on shroomery, which alows people to get "wise" and "enlightenment" by following simple rules.

Just like anywhere in the world, even on such a place as this, there are "appropriate" words, and those that are not.

For example, all you need to do is rant on about dualism, about how relative everything is, then add a bit of anger toward religion, speak about sexual freedom, and be against tradition, and of cours repeat a lot of times how you are happy and in control of your emotions.
And whoila!! there you have it, you are "wise"!

Perhapse moderators should post a sticky thread with guidlines about what is appropriate to say to get lots of 's  and be shroomeries wise elder.

shroomery is getting so predictable.

does anyone agree?

p.s. let's discuss this, don't lock the thread

rants are highly regarded
after all this is a high traffic area
and who has time for more than bumperstickers?

or

sometimes you notice some sensitivity,
and through the sensitivity a crack,
and through the crack some humanity.

"Faith is a continuum, and we each fall on that line where we may. By attempting to rigidly classify ethereal concepts like faith, we end up debating semantics to the point where we entirely miss the obvious-that is, that we are all trying to decipher life's big mysteries, and we're each following our own paths of enlightenment."

OK, here are the new ideas then.

1. Nothing is relative, everything is absolute, especially dualism. There is only one objective reality and nothing else exists.
2. Religion is the only path toward the one true God, and there is only one God. He is your Lord and Master.
3. Sexual freedom is an idea straight from the source of Evil itself. People should only have sexual experiences with one person and only after they're married. Homosexuals of course must never have sex and can never be married.
4. Tradition should always be followed because it's always right and logical. Even if you question it you should follow it anyway, because it's tradition!
5. It's impossible to control your emotions. You should always let them guide your actions, because it's natural.

Discuss.

I like make threads about absurd, OTD-ish topics, and find a way to make them relate to S&P. See my thread about pornography for example.

you don't mean any of it, and you probably don't have any arguments for any of it
