How do these pins look?

I am wondering how long it should take for the caps to open up? They are getting pretty big and the caps just aren't opening up like I thought they would... do you think they will be ok? Thx :smile:

Mushroom maturity hinges almost entirely on humidity and fresh air exchange. More fresh air will allow for faster growth. On average your caps should begin opening within 5-7 days from pinning.

I know you're anxious, but it will all be over soon enough.

it'll never be over. Once your first ones done its like a can of pringles man. Casing casing casing until you live in a mushroom farm and sleep on the floor because your bed was taking up valuable shelf space. Be careful. It is worse than heroine

Semi-unrelated to pinning, although not long before i see them if all goes well. This is a setup: does everything look ok? He's got a small fish bowl filled with distilled water + bubbler + heater, in a tupperware container filled 2" with moistened perlite. Using standard BRF cakes with B+. Kept at 72-75 degrees with maxed out humidity levels misting cakes twice a day and fanning 3 times. The 1st round of cakes have been birthed for a total of 4 days and he's starting to see "cotton ball-like lumps" forming is serveral areas.
How far off would it be to maybe expect some pins? He's pannig a vacation in early sept.

Why's there a heater in there? You want nice and cold temps for fruiting. 70-72 degrees. But you shouldn't be too far off from pins. :smile:
