Divided for Love's Sake
    #4460051 - 07/27/05 02:44 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

Quote:

From the Book of Law, by Aleister Crowley

Divide, add, multiply, and understand.

Then saith the prophet and slave of the beauteous one: Who am I, and what shall be the sign? So she answered him, bending down, a lambent flame of blue, all-touching, all penetrant, her lovely hands upon the black earth, & her lithe body arched for love, and her soft feet not hurting the little flowers: Thou knowest! And the sign shall be my ecstasy, the consciousness of the continuity of existence, the omnipresence of my body.

Then the priest answered & said unto the Queen of Space, kissing her lovely brows, and the dew of her light bathing his whole body in a sweet-smelling perfume of sweat: O Nuit, continuous one of Heaven, let it be ever thus; that men speak not of Thee as One but as None; and let them speak not of thee at all, since thou art continuous!

None, breathed the light, faint & faery, of the stars, and two.

For I am divided for love's sake, for the chance of union.

This is the creation of the world, that the pain of division is as nothing, and the joy of dissolution all.

E=mc2  OR        E/c2=m

I am playing with these ideas today:  If we are originally Divine Energy, and then become Mass through birth, then we have become "divided for love's sake."

Perhaps we are born so that Divine Energy can slow down enough to become subject to time, and thus experience life.

I'm still pondering this...will post more later.

Maybe Life is just a Cosmic game of Hide and Seek: energy taking on disguises, hiding its' face behind mass, waiting for the chance to recognize itself again, to experience delightful surprise and reunion.

Perhaps Love is that delighted recognition of energy and energy, when we glimpse what lives behind the mask of flesh and bone. The longing to merge, to reunite, is translated into desire and passion. We connect through the physical, but experience the energetic union in shivers and waves of ecstatic joy.

Very, very deep - for a girl! As I am moving slower and slower every year, I must be manifesting even MORE love and divinity.

Seriously, are you trying to ruin the whole S&P shtick by posting something of substance?

Put me down for a copy of your book as soon as it is published. Those are some magnificent ponderings.

po?lar?i?ty
1 : the quality or condition inherent in a body that exhibits opposite properties or powers in opposite parts or directions or that exhibits contrasted properties or powers in contrasted parts or directions : the condition of having poles
2 : attraction toward a particular object or in a specific direction
3 : the particular state either positive or negative with reference to the two poles or to electrification
4 a : diametrical opposition b : an instance of such opposition

Did the division create the attraction, or is it the yearning for reunion which draws the positive and negative together? From two we long to return to None: effortless formless blissful energy.

Intellectually, we long to reconcile our polarized ideas. When we argue, perhaps it is not to create disharmony, but an unskillful attempt to arrive, finally, at the "field beyond right and wrong."

Whatever the "truth" of the matter is, if there is such a thing, those moments when I feel myself at peace and at one are such bliss. Heaven has nothing to offer me.

We are divided? Perhaps to a dualistic consciousness.
