PF Cake timing
    #4454166 - 07/26/05 02:52 AM (18 years, 8 months ago)

My cakes are starting to colonize (day 4) and some have little to none. My ? is, can I wait until all of them are finished before birthing them? I don't want to hinder the ones that are already done colonizing by keeping them in for a longer time so will they be OK if I give the slower ones a chance to catch up?

Once they're full and I have my terrarium set up (10 gal tank with perlite/water in the bottom 1" thick), AND once I've dunked do i pop em out onto the lids, and set the lids directly on the perlite?

If so, and when I'm ready to fruit I give them light for about 3 hours a day, and mist once or twice a day/exchange air? Do I pretty much have it down or do I need more research?

You should give them light for 12 hours. You should fan as much as possible, mist only as needed, none if its not...but it most likly will. You could birth them as they become ready, or wait and birth them all at once. As long as they arent sitting fully colonized for over 2 weeks, youll be fine most likly. You can also put them into the fridge once they're at 100% and store them until they're ready. That way theyll last more like months..
