Soil concern
    #4453475 - 07/26/05 01:59 AM (11 years, 4 months ago)

There is stuff in my soil which looks like webs. Does anyone know what this could be and how to prevent it?

Looks like it's starting on your plant too.

ewww...your soil is staying too humid. I don't know what type of plant that is, but I've had success watering with a weak hydrogen peroxide/water solution (about 1:25). then let it dry out completely.

looks like cobweb mold just like in mush cultivation. Let it dry out more. Your soil looks to be as if it has very little perelite in it. Meaning its very dence and probably stays very very wet for long periods of time. Peroxide like Organic stated will help kill the contam. But to prevent it from coming back you will have to change the conditions favorable to the mold. Meaning adjusting the density of the substrate by adding perelite wich will aid in letting the soil dry out a bit more between waterings.
