I'd soak it with mist, and melt a few holes in the lid with a soldering iron for gas exchange. Not the best thing, but better than them drying out or whatever.

My suggestion would be to make a MONO TUB. Set it and forget it.
Its like the double tub but with a lid in place of the top tub.

When your done with it just use it for storage... and you'll always have it if you need it...

Total price would only be around 10 dollars.(tub n polyfil) you prolly have everything else around the house. would only take 10 minutes to make....
