Hello people out there, well i live in Mexico, exactly in a state called Puebla (2 hours away form Mexico city) this city is surrounded by mountains and i usually like to climb those on weekends, and yesterday i was going down the mountain (a small mountain called malinche) when i saw something in the ground that looked like a big apple, i was  starving so i took it and i noticed it wasn't an apple, it was a beautiful mushroom, red, really red and big, at least bigger than any Ive seen before, i reached the town and showed the mushroom to the local people, and they told me not to eat it, but I'm not sure if they said that because it is poisonous or because it is magic, so i would like that you people told me what to do with it, it looked very good when i gathered it but i putted it in a plastic bottle which was all i had in that moment and in the way down it got some serious hits so it now looks very damaged but anyway, i don't have pics cuz i cant find batteries for the camera but i took a short video
download it here and help me:
download video of mushroom

thank you people

[edit: sorry for the background music of that video, its just that im editing the video of a wedding and blah....]

It's not working, but this is the wrong forum for this.

Since you described it as an apple, being large, and a nice red cap, I'm going to guess (without seeing the video that I cant seem to get working either) that it is some sort of Bolete. If you check the underside of the cap, it should be spongy (instead of gills). Also, when they rot they get pretty nasty looking.

I cant be that sure though without a picture that I can actually see. Oh, I would recommend not eating it. If its a bolete, its not active, and could be poisonous.

Looks like an amanita to me, muscaria maybe? Im not very experienced with amanitas though. Muscarias are "magic" but in a different way. The trip can be very intense and isnt like a psilo trip. Many people dont like the trip they produce. Also they can be toxic if not prepared correctly. I say toss it.
