nothing happening

It has been little over 4 weeks since my jars have been completely covered by mycelium and it seems like things have stopped moving forward.
I have my jars in my basement in indirect light in my plastic terrarium. It is somewhat cool, temps in the mid to low 60s. A couple of weeks ago I got a plant starter heating pad. These are used to warm plant starts and sprouts in the early spring. I placed the jars on top and got the temp in the terrarium up to 70. This not only got the ambient temps up but also made the Jars kind of warm to the touch, especially the bottoms.
Recently the bottom of the jars or what would be the tops of the cakes were turning a light tan. I discontinued the heating and that has seems to go away after a few days. I think the jars have plenty of moisture. The edges all have liquid on them.
It seems like they are past due to start seeing primordia, mushroom sprouts. Am I just too impatient? Should things start happening? Any advice you can give?
The other problem I?ve noticed, is that a couple of jars have some small bluish spots, almost like what you see on moldy bread. I?m seeing 1 or 2 small spots in a couple of my jars. Are these jars contaminated?
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm stumped, 4 weeks is way too long to have to wait. It could be the strain. Some mushies are easy to get to colonize, and then near impossible to get to fruit. Must break your heart to have that problem now, but thats all I can think of. That, or your humidity is off. Wait a nother week or so, if nothing happens then you may as well make some tea :)

I got B+ syrings from Hawk's Eye. Is this a slower colonizing strain?

Your post leaves me the impression that you still have your cakes in jars a la hippie neglect tek? How are they getting moisture/humidity?

This is my first time growning and I'm using PF Tek and cakes are still in their jars. Substrate is vermiculite and brown rice flower.
Everything has been going well, following PF teck and now I'm waiting to see first mushrooms before birthing. The jars have changed while being completely white. At first the cake surface was smooth, but recently it has gotten lumpy. Is this the beginning of mushroom sprouts?
The jars are closed tight and I'm seeing water dropplets on the edges of most all 12 jars.
I plan, once birthed, to use the perlite tek to maintain moisture/humidity in my terrarium.
Do I just need to raise the temp in the terrarium...maybe move them from basement to warm house? Do I need to open up the jars a little?

well according to the PF tek, I need to wait till the primordia have appeared: http://www.fanaticus.com/birthday.htm
My cakes are just white, no sign of tiny mushrooms.

so I've removed the tape on the jars and turned them up side down.
Should I give them another couple of weeks? Do I need to actually see the starts of mushrooms before birthing or should I birth sooner?

I see- I thought you had already birthed them. Alot of people try to wait for primordia before birthing for weeks on end, I say if it's 100% colonized then birth it. I bet those suckers'll be fruiting in 5 days to a week and a half tops.

I had the same problem and decided to lossen the lids and turn them upside down. The cakes showed pins in 1 day.I also had a problem with the cakes not growing once they were birthed.I took them off the lids and put them directly on the perilite. They are growing like crazy!!! Perilite i believe is the best way to go. Good Luck.

Yes, I concur. Set the cakes directly on the perlite. One of mine didnt do anything for two weeks then I set it on the perlite. The mycelium began to grow to the perlite, and mushrooms appeared in less than 3 days.

Cabee I have a question for you, or anyone else who can answer: When you invert the jars to initiate invitro pinning, do you sit the jars flat on a surface or is it necessary to elevate the jars so that air exchange can occur?
Would loosening the jars, inverting them, and resting them directly on the floor work for the hippie neglect tek?
Thanks
