How long before a LC jar is mature enough to use, and how can you tell?

As soon as you have a mycelium blob floating in it. Anywhere from 5 -14 days. Varies just like any colonizing sub.



When they start looking like this, they're ready.

I bought a box of them at http://www.wackywillys.com/ a few years back. You can often find things like that at many of the electronic surplus parts places - nation wide.
