Today out of boredom and a lack of a better place to smoke a few bowls, I decided to go out in the woods behind my house and do a little mushroom huntin' of my own. I live in Northern New Jersey, and I theorize I might be able to find liberty caps in my area. Can anybody confirm/deny that one?
I've been lurking about the forums for a month or so, and I kinda got tired of looking at pictures of specimens on my monitor. It was high time to find some real ones, and uh... get high I consider myself to be a mycologist in that I'm currently studying a lot about mushrooms, but I really don't know much yet (ameteur mycologist that is ) so any help with identification would be cool. SOOO... without further adieu, I present today's findings!
1: Orange Dudes
I found this guy in some grass pretty close to my house, less than 1000 feet back I think, pretty cool to find something so quick Like I said I know nothing about species, but IMO bright colors means extra poisonous! I made sure not to touch these guys at all.
2: Wine Mushroom?
I think I've seen mushrooms like this called "wine mushrooms" or something like that, looked like a fairly ok specimen.
These next three shots all came from under this tree, can you spot them?
4: Mystery Mushroom
Don't know what these are, but they look pretty healthy and goin strong!
5: Mystery Mushroom 2
Another younger specimen.
6: Mystery Mushroom 3
When I saw this guy I thought it almost looked like a cubie, but I seriously doubt that. I think it's the same strain as the above two are, just that this ones cap hasn't opened yet.
7: Tree Shroomzilla
Holy crap look at the size of these mommas! I've seen people talk about "chicken mushrooms", is this one of those? I still can't believe how I found these, almost walked past them and then at the last second it was one of those, "Waiiit a minute... look at THAT!"
All in all it was fun looking for stuff and I had a good time taking pics of these. Hopefully somebody can tell me some more about them, but even if I don't know what they are I had fun taking pictures of them.

DJeeps are the shit, I miss the ones with the little push-in safeties, those are my all time fav lighters. Red is ok but bright green and black 4 life!
I really don't care about the first mushrooms but I'd love to find out more info about that maddeningly huge (compared to the other ones) cluster I found on that tree.

1 looks like dried out chanterelles that the slugs got to. 2 looks like a russula. 4 and 5 look like Amanita Vaginata (the grisette) 6 is one of many brown amanitas, probably not pantherina in these parts 7 is the white spored chicken mushroom, laetiporus cincinnatus. Nice finds.
