I certainly hope everyone in the Northeast spent this beautiful weekend out picking. I only stopped finding chants because I stopped looking. Here's a pic of a little over ten pounds I got in six hours today. And some others of interest (guesses)
I thought Mock oyster at first but that is a fall mushroom, maybe it is Paxillus Panuoides: And a type of Hydnellum:
Those are some amazing chants.. and SO CLEAN compared to when I pick them. Also, the northern variety of chanterelles take on a much more set in stone shape. The ones down here in GA go buck wild with wavy caps in 1000 different patterns.
Did you find out if those boletes were edible at all?
