going away
    #4446394 - 07/24/05 12:09 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

I was reflecting upon a moment, from last night?s going away party, held for a friend?s son and his paramour en route to Geneva, and my own daughters with their attachments were also invitees. This particular moment arising from memory was of a refreshing bare shoulder snuggling against my forearm from my younger now adult daughter - it was as if she were recording this refreshing contact with me and in part, maybe planning her own going away act.

In the shadow of this reflection I remembered how my younger brother used to touch my father?s arm ? he would stroke the hairs and slide his fingers along my dad?s skin affectionately. I remember that act of their cherishing from 40 years ago as if it were a recent thing -just minutes ago, though both he and my father have been gone for some time, separately departed ? bound together and released completely from this realm and that way bound again.

From a book of photos a huge barren landscape is depicted and in the middle a gorgeous conch shell lay open on its side, almost unrecognizable ? white, alien, yet natural, stunning, surprised, comforted, estranged and delighted to see the residue of the sea creature on land. Would we all have simmilar thoughts?

'Feeling' is my 'inferior function.'
It's hard to get me speechless.

Veritas and I were talking last night after watching American Beauty.

I made the comment that a balance might be struck between feeling everything fully with all the emotional connection and still remaining unattached, as a way to fulfill the human purpose to experience everything, and stay connected to the Divine being within. Enjoy the show from the audience and center stage.

redgreenvines

that's some kind of latticework or something of emotions, thoughts, connections, relationships, identifications

i tried to find a close-up of a snowflake, here's the best my poor search skills could come up with:

it's like the psyche is an infinite-dimensional version of that
