www.conceptart.org has some of the best artists (and top-rated ones, too) in the world .. from their sketchbooks to tutorials to in-progress pictures and animations to complete, beautiful works, this site has it all ... they are SO good

and on that note, here's one of the BEST tutorials i've ever seen on anything, much less something i've always been so interested in, and never known how to do ... maquettes!

peter konig, the guy who wrote this tutorial, is a top player in the industry, working for the likes of stan winston and phil tippet, two of the pioneers and co-developers of the movie stop-motion animation technique ... they are best known probably for their work on ... well, let's see ... every star wars movie ... jaws ... indiana jones ... jurassic park ... draco ... Pirates of the Caribbean .. pretty much, anything that Industrial Light and Magic has done, which is almost every big blockbuster film ... they are brilliant, and had i not had to deal with crohn's, i would have been working there already, learning from the best in the world .. :frown:

check out this tutorial, fucking INCREDIBLE and SO SIMPLE!  all it comes down to is your patience and talent ... he even goes into depth about so many aspects of maquettes, including information about Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas!

read it THROUGH
