Jaco Pastorius
    #4444903 - 07/24/05 12:08 AM (11 years, 4 months ago)

I really like him, and was just listening to this thing he does where he plays the Scarecrow's song from Wizard of Oz, you know the 'if I only had a brain.' He starts off playing that then just sort of solo's around it. I have a lot of his live stuff, and I enjoy when hes just fuckin around playing silly shit, sort of like how older Jazz groups would do, sometimes in sarcastic ways. Listening to the Oz thing always makes me laugh.

Also check out Brian Bromberg's album titled 'Jaco' Bromberg is very talented. Also 'Alain Caron' does an interesting slap version of 'Donna Lee'

Id love to hear that slap version if you have it. But it sounds like Jaco slaps on his own version of it.
