So, my friend's dog groomer births his cakes, w/out invitro primordiation, and double ended cased them with moist vermiculite. 2 weeks later, barely any caps have come up, nothing but mycelial growth. When they do come up they come up mutated or abhorted or just fucked looking. He's wondering if he should just let them keep growing, remoisturize them or what. Something has got to give soon, he's getting pissed.

make sure temp is low enough. more air exchanges. enough lighting? and don't soak the verm on the top

Temp is around 74-80 a day. do 2-3 air exchanges, 8 hours of light, And he'll be scraping the wet verm off about...now.

if they're anything but cambodians, i would also try to keep them in the lower 70s, even that 4 or 5 degree difference is a lot sometimes.
