Nice! Yeah, I won't mind shelling out $60-$70 for a PC that will ensure sterile jars and a better chance at yields. Any ideas besides Wal-Mart for a good place to get one?

LOL

I used doc34's tek the first time and I got great results, so I never felt a need to try any other tek. I'm sure all the other teks work fine too.

Peace!!!

If you use his tek, you should pay particular attention to the part where he says when 5% of the grains are exploded then it is done.

That means that the others are probably about as saturated as possible. It's a good rule of thumb, and it works.

Is it easy to see the exploded grains or do I have to poke around a bit?

Take a slotted spoon, and scoop out a spoonful and have a look at it.

They have split sides and have burst. They are easy to spot and you'll know when you see them. When it looks like about 1 out of 20 have burst, it's ready for the strainer.

(Too many burst seeds and it will clump up in the PC. Too few and the seeds may not be saturated enough yet.)

Also: While simmering be sure to stir it often so that there are no overcooked piles of seed on the bottom of the pot.

I can't get over how doc and scat both have shrooms as avatars.

It made it appear as though the strains were arguing over which one is more potent or something. lol
