Why is it that people don't have much of a clue about art, especially stuff since W W I? Why is it that educators are taught the most recent psychological-teaching-bull-shit that is absolutely worthless, kids don't even know how to sound intelligent these days, education has been going down hill since WW II. No offence intended man, some of us are just products of the system in ways that can't be cured by smoking weed, dropping acid, or eating a few fungi.

I love dali and escher... I love the current typography and rave flyer designs... HeavenlyBlue is defiinatly something to be noted, and Doktor J and Muddy Minds, along with a lot of the other stuff I see right here on the Shroomery.

yeah love dali, wouldn't put him up there with escher though! i agree that our education systems are pretty fucked up, don't know what they were like before WW2....like why aren't we taught good nutrition? what about correct posture? of course music and art and a better attempt at world history.....recently i've been hanging around with people that do various kinds of african drumming and dancing, so i've been meeting lots of african musicians and man there are hundreds of fantastic, beautiful instruments i've never seen or heard of, 36 stringed harps that make the most blissful sounds i've heard in my life...what do I know about africa? not a thing!!! africans are black. african children are really hungry. africans are dying of aids. africa is very big and there are lots of animals there, and those people that jump up and down. but yeah who's ever heard of any african artists eh? i've seen some crazy geometric stuff from who knows where...also some MAD japanese surrealist stuff from several hundred years ago...crazy colourful demon-samurai climbing up warped cliff faces after these strange lion demons. turns out the japanese have been getting fucked up on mushrooms since forever. ganja was considered a sacred herb by many shinto sects....

Ooh H.R. Giger awsome work. I've seen some great art lately although I seem to have totally forgotten who it was by. I like most artwork that for instance combines industrial and organic, or other opposing themes smoothely.

Mondrian and Miro were cool. Mostly I'm into anyone current-day who is true to themselves in their art and doens't make a mockery of conceptualism. I abhore anything that is policically correct. I admire art from artists who ignore current trends but aren't tacky about it. Regionalists are cool if they arn't mimicing people on the national or international scene or trying to be folksy-sophisticated. Any one from New York, Paris, or San Fransisco sucks. I'm more inclinened to be overly critical of artists with MFAs. But I don't like uneducated artists either. I like artists that are educated but not necesarily in art.

yeah, giger rocks it totally! one of the alltime best.. the good thing about him was that he actually got off his ass and put the effort in to make his artwork and imagination come to life.. what he did to the alien series, etc..
