Scion and stock should be close relatives  ( Both cactuses in this case)
But not all cactuses are good stocks.
Some of them don?t accept the scions well while some others don?t offer any advantage.
The diameter of the scion is another thing you should pay attention.

The most popular stock choices for williamsii are:

Pereskiopsis ( great growth , very small diameter, only for seedlings)
Myrtillocactus geometrizans (columnar cactus, Easy to find , good stock)
Trichocerei (no comment)

If you have seedling Pereskiopsis is the only way!

There are also some other stocks but there is no meaning in naming them?
Personaly I love pereskiopsis although it is not the ?100% normal? stock!

Anyway grafting is great fun.
I am thinking of uploading a pic of one of my trees that produces Oranges AND Lemons AND Tangerins :D:D

don't really know, for a 1st go would stick with what has been shown, if it works out then try a jade plant but not to sure about that one.

anyone else?
