casing

I just made some casings yesterday. the bottom layer was vermiculite then about an inch and a half of colonized brf/birdseed followed by a 1/2 in of coco fiber. My question is I already have mycelium poking through is this normal or to fast?

Coco fiber colonizes REAL quick. Sounds like your right on schedule. It is possible that your layer was a little to thin in spots though, you might want to cover up those first patches with extra coco to ensure an even pinset.
