Making mushroom tea in an espresso machine?

I was wondering if I could extract more actives into a mushroom tea by running them through an espresso machine.
Like, take dried shrooms, grind up fine powder in a coffee grinder, then load the espresso maker up with it as if it were coffee and crank out the tea.
Has anyone ever thought about or tried this? If so, were the results good?

I've tried making tea in a coffee maker, never worked good enough. Water came out blue and only got about as high as if I would have eaten the mushrooms. Have to be boiled heavily for at least ten minutes to get maximum effects.

But espresso machines operate under pressure, like a pressure cooker does.
I surmised that the action of hot, pressurized steam would extract more actives.
Plus, I don't think you could ever get more high than if you ate the shrooms anyway, if you eat them, you'll get it all.

Yeah I drank tea before. It seems to me to be qualitatively different, less bad physical effects, but not nescessarally more potent.
Perhaps you enjoy yourself more because of that..
But anyway, I'd really like to know if anyone had any success with an espresso machine.

Dude, I was trying to help you out. If you don't want my experienced opinion, fine. But please do not refer a song from that lame ass band I think you were implying in a reply to me.
Sorry I'm harsh but there are a bunch of people who think boiling and cooking will decrease the strength of mushrooms, when in my experience it does the opposite. Doing and reading about are two very different things.
So, basicly, I do not know how an expresso machine would work for tea, but I can say an instant coffee maker works the same as eating them for myself, and boiling intensifies the reaction for myself. YMMV
Sorry about the attitude, and my replies

No, I was not talking about any song references, and your opinion has been noted. Thank you for your attitude.

Uhh everything I've seen about Mushroom Tea recomends letting the water drop down to around 170 degrees, before adding in the shrooms. Psyilocibin will break down under the temps of boiling water, espresso maker would get too hot to.

I find that a coffee maker is a prime way to make tea.
Funny story my and a group of friend had just picked up a ounce of some nice mushies, i watched them grow up and got them the day after they were dried. The guy also threw in a bag of shake that he wouldn't deal to people cuz he doesn't like people thinking hes ripped them off.
Any way my and me buddies decided that there was no way in hell we were gonna eat the shake so my friends got the good idea of putting in the coffee maker. We just put it where the coffee regularly goes with some tea, after it had gone through once we put the tea in again, and once more after that.
then we walked down a mountain trail and let me tell you it was some good shit.

Some people in my area ate 5 grams of these not so good shrooms that are around now and felt next to nothing but i made tea with 3 grams(which is NOTHING for me) and I actually tripped enough to get visuals, etc...
How is it that tea can be more effective than eating?

Well, I don't know, but heat changes the content of the mushrooms. I have to do more reading, but I think it changes Psilocin to Psylocybin, or vise versa. I could be wrong.

I'm not sure why, but I always get higher from boiling than I would eating them. I'd recomend trying it if you haven't. You sure as hell will not lose any potency.

That is what I keep trying to tell people here who worry about the heat decreasing the effects. I try to tell them it increases it and they don't buy it and don't try it. I saw the thank you, and I am glad to help you see the difference. Sorry it shy-ed you away from larger doses, but I bet in a year or two you will be back to them again.

Making tea does not increase the potency of shrooms, thats for sure. You've only got as much psilocybin / psilocin as you begin with. And you'd be naive to think that you get 100% of that out of the shrooms when you make tea too.
The reason that tea seems to be more potent, is that because the drug is dissolved in water, it is much, much more readily accessible to your gut to absorb. Normally the drugs are trapped within the cells of the mushroom, and the enzymes in your stomach have to break them free from the shrooms before you are able to absorb them. Whereas with tea this doesn't have to take place so you start tripping a lot sooner and it all comes on pretty much at the same time.
Another thing you might notice is that while tea is seemingly 'more potent' and comes on quicker, it also doesn't last as long and the comedown is more rapid. I find that a tea trip for me is usually an hour or even two hours shorter than an eaten dose.

I think it's worth cutting an hour off the trip to make it stronger (and noticeably so ). And the taste of a well made tea is much nicer
