does it matter if the cows in the pasture are being used for milk or meat? i heard somewhere that you need to search fields where the cows are being used for beef... is this really true, cuz im oretty new to shroom hunting... p.s. where are some good area to hunt in the ft drum, NY area if anyone knows...
Im not sure but i think that your supposed to look for dairy cows, but the field i searched was beef cows i think, there all solid black, and your not allowed to ask for areas, and if we were allowed to discuss that ... Who would tell you on a internet message board? Besides a DICK.

I don't think it matters if they're dairy cows or beef cows or purple cows, just so long as they are cows. Unfortunately though, this information is useless to you because your chances of finding active mushrooms on cow poo in New York are nearly 0%. Start doing some research on Panaeolus subbalteatus. Those are a hot topic in this forum at the moment, i suggest you take advantage of that.
