correct. It's the pagan new years. IT's when the barrier between our world and the world of the might sperit is the weakest. Many spells to comunicate with the daed are cast today. today is the day of great of power for all us witches.

actually, to my understanding, it was. They don't actually know when christ was born. the christians wanted the pegans to convert, but the Pegans had a sort of harvest festival that they didn't want to give up. Christmas was celebrated so the pegans could keep their holiday, and would more easily convert.
it was a win win situation, the pegans didn't have to give up their holiday, and the christians captured many more people into their religion.

well, yule...
which is at winter solstice...
the 25 dec was associated with mithra... (blood of the sacred bull, etc...) which i suppose christans would call "pagan" --- mithraism was a mystery religion, which was more or less in competition with the mystery religion of the christos during the waning days of the roman empire... (though followers of mithra were most often roman soldiers...)
~
it's a mystery to me...

Hollween is an amarican custom. It's not selebrated the same way in other countries. it has always been, although called Samhain, the pegan new year. Samhain falls on the full moon tomarrow. Yule, or the winter soulstice is the shortest day of the year and the selebration of the rebirth of the god via the goddess. Yull is on dec 20-21. although yuel falls closely to christmass, i dont think that one has much if anyhting to do with the other.

They also said satan had horns to be able to say pagans were worshiping satan. Satan and horns had no connection till the crusade periods.
