suffocating substrate?
    #4434168 - 07/21/05 05:45 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

hey guys. i just have a quick question. and since there aren't supposed to be dumb questions, i will ask-
i am incubating mycobags inside an airtight rubbermaid container.
am i suffocating the colonizing bags by not allowing fresh air to get to the bag?
i have read people incubating inside boxes which aren't airtight.
what is your experience on this?
thank you so much  :crazy2:

incubating does not require air exchange just gas exchange you will be fine in a rubbermaid container

but, gas exchange is important. how much air space around the bag?
mycelium needs to breath. even in incubation.
