Man, that retort came off as smooth as an advertising exec for Miss Cleo.

'I probably know more about these types of subjects than most of you. This is not superiority, but age. I have researched many paranormal claims for over 30 years.
Probably read 300+ books. Have visited gurus, psychics, mystics, healers, ashrams, etc'

CALL ME NOW!

Just curious, why did you feel compelled to post a snapshot of your paranormal fact-finding resume? Without it, did you feel that you would not be able to express your viewpoint on its own merits?

Besides, posting credentials in a forum like this, carries the same equivalency of anteing up in a poker game when you know the other players can't see how lousy your poker face is.

I can understand when one has feelings of jadedness and when others don't quickly embrace and accept one's viewpoints as strongly as others, such as Rono's insightful post (Thanks for raising awareness on that book, btw).

It's unfortunate that you seem to have lost your 'open mind'. You were able to have one for 30 years, 300 books, and meetings with countless 'authorities' on the subject, but you can't maintain the same open-mindedness through a post on an internet site? That kind of casts some shadow of doubt on the credibility of your spiritual resume, no?

I might agree with you except for the fact that I am not selling anything.

Good question. It is not ego as you may suppose. But is in response to a large number of PMs and responses as to the stance that I am just a cynic and skeptic that has never done any homework into any of the areas being discussed.

I can understand when one has feelings of jadedness and when others don't quickly embrace and accept one's viewpoints as strongly as others, such as Rono's insightful post...
Fine. But, I have not presented a viewpoint except to question the source of these "teachings'.

It's unfortunate that you seem to have lost your 'open mind'.
Does an open mind mean to you that one accepts any fanciful story set before one? What I have lost is my naivete and gullibility. If i wasn't still curious, I wouldn't be here on this forum. Words can fabricate anything. I want some substance. Is that really unreasonable?

That kind of casts some shadow of doubt on the credibility of your spiritual resume, no?
I am merely asking the same questions that I have asked for 30 years. What, where, who, why? My credibility or lack thereof, has nothing to do with the truth or falseness of the existence of a mystical Council of Nine.

so I find it hard to believe that you have researched this for 30 years and found them ALL to be lacking in any substance. unless you mean only those claiming magical powers were full of shit, which I can easily believe.

Hard to answer in a paragraph as every claim is different. Studied Shaolin Kung-Fu and Ba Gua and have met great adepts, but no mystics. A martial artist that can break 10 bricks to me is no different than a tennis expert who can place a ball on the tape 40 feet away while under a full run or a power lifter who can squat 600 pounds. All have excelled in the physical realm.

Have travelled from Sedona to Machu Picchu to the pyamids and found no mysterious energy vortices.

Have met many wise people, but have I have found no magic and no one with cosmic insight.

My latest disappointment was to hear of Donald Walters, aka Swami Kriyananda of Ananda fame ( he founded the oldest spiritiual community in the USA based upon Paramahansa Yogananda's teachings), expulsion from the community for sexual exploitation of his disicples and he is in his 70's.

He told the press that he was "giving them a blessing." That is now my new line when hunting on a Saturday night :)

Swami, would you be able to tell us more about your search?
Perhaps I will, although I have little insights to share except to say : "Caveat emptor."

I presume, Swami, that you don't believe in God. (Correct me if I am wrong). It is always fun to ask non-believers a couple of questions:
With each person having a different definition of God, your question is not possible for me to answer.

1. What is it that you think God is, that you don't believe in?
Belief or disbelief is irrelevant. God either exists or he/she doesn't, regardless of my positive or negative stance. But I can say that in my experience, prayer has no value. One mother prays night and day for her child with leukemia and the child lives. "Thank God!", she declares, "It is a miracle." Another 20 mothers pray fervently and their child succumbs to leukemia. They either go crazy or say,"It was the will of God." Prayer or not, the result is the same as was medically statistically expected.

excellent! I've just recently begun learning bagua but have been practicing jujutsu and taiji for a few years now, and like yourself I have met extremely capable, powerful people who strongly disbelieve in magical claims but can themselves do amazing things - like take a full-power kick to an outsretched arm without moving, causing the kicker to turn white with blue lips and fall gasping to the ground...

I haven't been to any pyramids yet BUT when I was in india three years ago we went to the caves at Ajanta and Ellora in Bihar (north india), crescent river gorge where the first buddhist monks (later hindus and Jain) carved caves for a thousand years and man in some of those caves I had various moments where my skin went cold, my hairs all stood on end, or my heart suddenly started pounding and tears streamed down my face, all thoughts completely struck from my mind, stunned. vibrations? or an emotional reaction to sudden understanding of the life those folks must have lived there, two thousand years ago. there were definately emotional moments of realisation but there were also moments of complete blankness combined with INTENSE physical sensations.

certain places have atmospheres that simply ooze power if your mind is open to them. my brother felt similar things to me, my mother was amazed by the beauty and loved the art, my indian uncle laughed loudly and shouted alot before leaving to get a beer. many tourists were wandering around, groups of young indian men wearing nice shirts carrying a stereo playing pop music, westerners oohing and aahing at the art, and one dirty old man that lived there with a quiet smile and bright eyes, who sat with me in silence in a cathedral like cave with the sun streaming in.....

sorry. this post has nothing to do with the council of nine somethings.

Stone henge gave me a weird feeling, and totally not as I would have expected. It wasnt nice, a bit morbid or something, unpleasant body feelings. While before I had been there I thought it was a place of positive energy.

I love hearing about others travelling experiences. Especially about ancient sites. I was in Fiji, about 8 years ago...and there was an archeological site close to the place I was staying. They estimated the burial site was approx 5000 years old! A cyclone hit the island while I was there, and the site was scattered everywhere...it was bizarre walking around there with ancient pottery shards scattered around. I considered taking a few shards as "souvineers" but I just got a bad vibe when I was holding them...maybe it was just my conscience, but it just felt "wrong" to be there.

This is probably due to the fact that Stonehenge was built by the reptilian species as a sacraficial place. The druids didnt come upon it until a few thousand years later.

Swami seems to be the only "normal" person out there..
I had a friend who started to bleive in that type of things too (they put him into the nuthouse)..I was on the same trip when it all started wth him, I just got sober again

I think it isn't a good sign that Swami is disrespekted and offended like that even in Private mails, only cause he doesn't believe in that science Fiction stuff (not that I don't like it)

We should allways ask these quetions when someone tells us something (why, who, how etc..)..

I like Shroomisms stuff, but I don't believe a word and that's not bcause I'm not open-minded..that's because I don't have answers to these questions and haven't seen anything like that sober (damn if I would believe in anything I've seen tripping, they'd put into the nuthouse too)

you allways have to ask and be skeptikal....don't believe anything...

nevertheless Shroomism and his Alien Religion are the most interesting thing in the shroomery at the moment
the most interesting about it is the phenomen that there are many willing to believe you..(and the people tht invented that "religion")..guess peple just need answers and a cool story behind all

So i'm looking forward to see what happens 2013 :) (hmm maybe I build myself I nice bunker in the mountains before ;).......but maybe I'm good enough in surfing untill then to ride the big tsunamis

I was confronted first with that "religion" by a Reiki shaman or something who claimed to be send by the Hopi council or something..he wanted me to ask him questions and stuff, we had some funny rituals with drums and chantig (wich in fact worked somehow, made me happy and cry and stuff, like a good MDMA pill)....oh and they cutted my connection to space with a knive, maybe thats why I don't belive that stuff
then he channeled some entitie, they wanted me to become a shaman adept and to go to the shaman school..
there I realised they wanted my money and life, like the New age Guys want to sell their books

that was the last day I believed in anything, I don't even believe my own visions when tripping...believe in nothing, never name anything that can't be proven or at least explained logically..hmmm maybe that's the knives fault (?)

please don't take that as an offence, I'm just skeptical and not willing to believe anything I haven't seen myself and damn even then I don't believe that easy ( I talked to gods and the moon (which is female)..they opened the sky in front of me and all, but still I don't know nothing )

hmmmm if the Zetas solve my problems with gils I'm willing to believe anything ;)

please keep posting, I love that stuff for rainy days and if it's true I at least know what it is about

oh yeah that spirit the shaman "chanelled" also talked about the pole shift and stuff and aliens and atlantis, guess they've read the same books

peace
Prelli
