honey water

so far I have been successful at making honey water with multi spore innoculation. my question is if i want to clone a mushroom can I just put a sterile chunk of a stem in it to make more honey water?

I believe there is a way to clone from the core of a mushrooms stem but I doubt doubt you can just
put it in honey water and grow mycillium from it.

Yes, it can be done. Hippie has written about it here and you might also check Mycotopia for the tek. Sterility is absolutely essential and the surface of the stem is surely contaminated. The stem must be asepticly cut and then peeled like a banana. It is not easy but it can be done.

hmmm! my wookie friend has already done that. he putted little pieces of inner stripes from a mushrrm and innoculated substrate with successful growth... the only problem he had was bcs he didnt wait for more myceial growth in honey, so colonization was slow. and he had problems with contamination into honeywater, he had those wonderful clouds and a black spot on the side... he is thinking of upgrading to agar teks...

Yes, it can be done. But I've never gotten it to grow contam free.
