If you've got extra empty syringe around, that would be a perfect measuring device. I think that the small measuring spoons have ml's on them as well.

15-20 minutes is plenty of time to sterilize a liquid medium, any more and you carmilize the sugars.

I used a syringe minus needle to measure out the honey and the water. 12cc syringe times 8 is 96, it was easy.

what is grain lol, I ask and I ask but I don't get it. is it BRG? or rye, not sure what that is lol. I know bird seed and BRF, that's it. I guess my little mushroom world will be doomed for BRF and birdseed lol.

Along with rice, millet, rye, wheat, corn, millo, and seeds that are derived from grain type of plant life. Grass seed is also a type of grain. Whole grains that is. Whole grains meaning unshucked.

"grain" is an entire category of plant material. Like hotnutz said, it includes many species, just as oranges, tangerines, and lemons are all "cirtus".

I've used wbs, rye, rice, straw, all floured with good results except the straw. My favorites are wbs, rice and rye seed. They all require the same amount of H20 and vermiculite for the pf tek.

Long as your all pulling your hair out on this discussion, Tell me...I made an LC, got some spores in it, spores not particularly clean or virgin, little leather skirts, coin changer, matress with sholder straps. Get the picture? Got this nice white cloud in the LC. Later, I put a bit of the cloud in some Rye (thats whole grain that holds up well to boiling) and I think the cloud was a green mold, nothing to do with my sleezy spores. The point: Do molds grow a cloud in LC like mushrooms do?

ok i knocked up some karo with 190ml h2o to 1 tbs karo all i did was is got water to a roaring boil an put it in a half pint jar with karo let cool an shot up with 1cc spores. took awile but like 2weeks later i had a snot ball of myc.should i have pced.i had a problem with sucking it up though.what kind of a jar is best for this.is there a easy er way.does anyone have a pic of what there jar of lc looks like.any pics would be great.love this site.

I use half pint wide mouth, single hole punched in the top with paper punch, bandade over hole. I use Hairy 3 inch #18 needle from vet to suck it up. It is huge! Shake the jar first, makes all the difference.

Well I never am one to fall to ?getting annoyed? and star insulting but I guess that would just be me.
