opium

Hello I need some help with my opium poppyplants. Last year I successfully grew about seven plats out of a hundred. I?m not very good, since poppies are easy to grow.

The question:
Last year the plants got their lettuce leafs early, when they weren?t that big and everything was good. But this year I have grown new poopys from the same kind of seeds and it has been about a month and no! lettuce leafs. They just grow taller and taller while lying down. And there are small white flowers on them. And they are only about 20 cm ta?l.

Don't fertilize, almost all plants that people new to growing kill are due to overfertilization. Poppies just don't really need it, except maybe one fertilization when they're about to bloom. And you definitely don't need to water them every day either, I wouldn't water more than once a week or so unless I saw them getting a lighter color in their leaves. I don't really know where you live but here in the northwest I haven't had to water once this season. Poppies LOVE the sun.  :sunny:

Just give them good airy and drained soil then water every 1-3 days. Give them a light manure or guano tea every week or so if you want to bother.
