7-20-05 short hunt
    #4430442 - 07/20/05 10:57 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

Hello everyone.I went on a short walk through a local park today in the wooded part of the playground area.I was hoping to find some chanterelle's that hadn't been eaten up by the bugs already. It hasn't rained in a few days so my chances were small. It was much more of a time killing hunt than anything.
I saw tons of red capped russula's and a few with grey caps.there were 3 species of bolete.I only got pics of two species though.I also found what a sort of lactarius. Also I saw many of what I thought to be Amanita Flavoconia.
Anyway here are the pics.My camera time was limited today so I only got pics of some boletus and some lactarius.....Enjoy

Here is one of the boletus I found. It had yellow pores. It seemed to bruise on the pore side,a dark color almost black.I guess it was just very dark blue bruising.

Here is another bolete of a different species.Look how it has two stems but the caps had either grown together or were  like that from the pin stage,I do not know...Very interesting I think

It looks as if the base of the stems had grown together then they decided to separate, only to join again at the cap.

and another shot.

And here are the lactarius I found.I don't know what species they are or if they are edible or not. They were scattered everywhere throughout the area were I was hunting.
The spore print is looking to be a yellow cream color. The gills are crowded.
It doesn't seem that the milk/latex substance is turning into a yellow color after being in the air for a period of time.Does this rule out any type of poisonous lactarius species?I'm interested to see if this Milky is edible. But  either way here are the pics

Have fun everyone....

thanks.I wish I would have gotten some pics of the russula's.They were everywhere.I have never seen that many russula's in such a small area.Every foot or so there would be a red capped russula.
