    #4430430 - 07/20/05 10:54 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

hello today me and my friends got some mushrooms and id say were pretty experienced with them. All the mushrooms i have had have been fully dried and hard now today most of them were like that but there was one with a stem that looked alitle strange and was very very soft it felt like cotton is this bad? what does this mean? the stem was not wet at all just very soft.

if it was "cottony" feeling then it probably is wet (as in not dried, not dripping wet). if it hasent been dreid and you bought it at dried price then you my friend got ripped off a little (but it was probably an accident). but it feels ohhhhh so smoth huh

Of course, stuff like bread is "moist" and not cracker dry, but you can squeeze a whole loaf and not feel any water or wetness right? Same thing. They were wet, and you had some extra water weight. Either it was an accident and not fully dried, improper storage, or on purpose to rip you off for some water weight.
