Anyone ever try the "shaker" kit?
    #4430351 - 07/20/05 10:32 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

Seems pretty easy for noob like me, as well as inexpensive if it does not work. Any comments/suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you live in the united states, i dont think they will send it to you.

I bet you dont live in the states though, cause growing shrooms would be illegal.  :smirk:

Check out:

pyramidkit.com

It is under Mushroom kits. "mini Shaker" kit.

Any experience?
Not that I live in the US, but it does seem that they would send to someone there.

I got that "SHAKER" they sell it on eBay for like $7.00 it's crap dude. they have a tyvek filter so when you SHAKE it, it will get the tyvek wet. Then guess what!!! you have el MR.Green mold. the Worst smell in the world! It's a zip lock twist and lock container with a red rubber stopper. Hell dude I'll give you a rubber stopper I got 100s lol you just go to Wall-mart and get a zip lock twist&lock.

really you can't go wrong with the pf tek. I am new but I went and got some Kerr jars, BRF, verm, & a small PC at Wall-mart for 17.00 and Now I got 12 jars doing great!! not more "SHAKER".

P.S Do not buy a kit!!

seriously though, if you wanna learn how to do it right, and be able to do it right again and again for the rest of your life, simply dedicate some evenings or whatever to reading and studying the information on this website.

I guarantee you, if you do that within one week or less you will feel confident enough to start doing this on your own, without buying any kits and using basic materials found at stores, and you will be very glad you did.

We will help you, too.

Actually I am semi confident that I at least have the *knowledge* needed
to cultivate these, but I have the problem that my wife would go nuts. This 'shaker' kit seemed easy enough to conceal. But I guess that this is crap, huh?

Right on. I wouldn't say it's crap, just an expensive solution. Plus it does not come with spores. But it will probably work O.K. for you given your circumstances.

You could also do this:

http://www.mycotopia.net/site/article.php?14.255

"This tek is primarily designed for anyone who, for whatever reason, cannot fruit in humidified terrariums."
