identification needed for yellow mushrooms (pictures this time)
    #4429232 - 07/20/05 06:21 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat: wooded area in Alabama.. found in leafy soil, possibly mixed with manuer.
Gills: I'm really not sure what those are despite reading the glossary. I'm guessing white with a yellow ring around the edge.
Stem: White and they turn yellow and then grey as you get near the bottom... they're solid and have a silky feeling. Semi-thick.
Caps: light mustard to bright yellow colored with little brown bumps/spots... smooth but bumpy, convex.
Spore print color: again, I dont know.
Bruies: brownish yellow.
Scent: light musty smell

i know the big yellow one is poisonous. (possible amanita species)
The shelf looks like a reishi lookalike, but they could be reishi. dont take my word for it.

certain species of amanita are deadly.... so yeah, its bad. discard before other creatures get to it like dogs or something

It's usually only bad if they are the white poisonous kind. However, there are other poisonous species. In general, I don't think they're that good anyways. I wouldn't eat them, Psilocybes are better.
