HELP, can this casing be saved??
    #4429121 - 07/20/05 03:57 PM (18 years, 8 months ago)

A little less than week, I cased my cakes and only started peeking during incubation about 3 days ago. First saw some small cobweb (smaller then a quater size), search the message board and sprayed with 3% h2o2. Fizzled away so i knew it was cobweb. A day later, it spread like wildfire with some mean green. FUCK. My other two cases are ok, one has some cobweb and hint of green but i sprayed. I'm fearing the same outcome for that cake. I realllllly need to save these cases, i've been patiently grow for like 2 months (newb). I'm learning a lot of shit for the next time I grow but i just want a final product. Can my cases be saved? Can the green/cobweb be cut out? Or possibly the myc thats poking through be trans planted in some way, shape, or form.

Wacked out case

Ok case, with some cob and small green.

Ok case, so far...

KEEP IN MIND SOME OF THE COB IS GONE ON THE LAST TWO CASES B/C I SPRAYED WITH PURE 3% H2O2

Sorry, but I would have to say you're fighting too many battles at this moment for much success :frown:

If you can place the casing's outside somewhere and keep an eye on them, you may get some fruits. If you keep them inside and try to battle them, more then likely everything around will succumb to the contamination,

Good Luck.

What do you think about the rest of the cases, will they be ok?

Depends on if the spores from the contaminated casings got to them or not

Keep an eye on them. If they where in the FC with them and you where fanning, good chance they'll wind up infected also. :frown:
