Buckminster Fuller video - not for the faint of heart
    #4428803 - 07/20/05 04:43 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

I just wanted to notify the shroomery of a video/audio/transcript archive of a series of lectures by Buckminster Fuller, the man who brought the world Geodesic domes, the Dymaxion house and the World Game.

Everything I know  was recorded in 1975 and consists of 12 lectures covering all of Fullers interests. (total running length 42 hours!) At times as crazy as the weirdest of Terence McKenna's theories, at other times rigourously mathematical, with a lot of history and anecdote thrown in. Informative and very funny. Highly recommended if you can find time to watch it all. It took me more than a week to watch the entire series (in realplayer format :frown: )

I wonder if you really need the video part, or if you could just listen to the audio and get it.

The video is very helpful. A lot of of the talk is either done hands-on with physical models, on a whiteboard (hard to read in the video) or with slides. I started out listening to the audio only, but Fuller refers so often to the visual material, that I quickly switched to video.
