Living life for...

YOUR OWN ENETERTAINMENT!
Honestly, who woulda thought? That people do just wander about, feeding off the intellect of those they meet along the way? These professional wanderers have segregated themselves from modern day societal work forces and liberated themselves to self-sacrifice and the yearning for wisdom.
As a professional wanderer, you can leave your programmed cubicle to the conglomerate, that mind numbing data entry for this and that mortage blah, ...and experience life.
Living should not be limited to 2 week paid vacations and select holidays.
I suppose it depends on what you hope to acheive out of this life.
I know that I want more out of a lengthy (time consuming) experience than a raise.
If you spend your whole life fighting for the"truth", the logic behind it all, the rational answers, you are never going to be complete. Never content with being. Considering, every piece of information is mutated each time it is transmitted from mind to mind, from ear to ear out of mouth , then again to be processed through mind. Its like that game you played as a kid, telephone, where the first kid speaks a phrase, and by the time it gets to the last kid in the circle, it is completely different, haha. Cause information transmission is like faint child-whispers just waiting to be corrupted into what you pressume was said.
Can't we just have fun knowing we exist here and now, and that there are lovely things to embrace?
Oh wait, thats just on Thanksgiving isnt it?
....just some vegetarian food for thought...
-------------------- A plethora of music aspirations control my temptations of future revelations beyond "now". The percussion, and the heart beat of my love and devotion. The rhythm goes beyond, prying into the third eye, releasing the creativity held so far inside. The melodicies, through the out of tune pianos and broken classical guitars...there lies a beauty. A beauty as prevelent as the fire inside. To release these energies is pure ecstacy, to deveop these gifts is sacred. The vocality, so pure as can be, shying away from herself, lies within me. For the underlying serenitity, this is what I live for. I plea for harmony, and nothing more. Music equals love. Creation of love leads to the procreativity of the World, and it's spirals and puddles prevailing.

mmm but i'd say there's more than life than entertainment. for example, i feel that we all have a social responsibility to make our world more sustainable/just/equitable/etc - just because we happened to be lucky enough to be born into the 'wealthy' part of the world doesn't mean we don't have a responsibility to create a world where all can 'enjoy' themselves. and that kind of work certainly isn't all 'fun-and-games' - but is very necessary in my eyes.
it's kind of like my belief about 'enlightenment' and that sort of thing - that if you truly want to be an ego-less being, you should feel that all beings should/can have the opportunity to experience that as well - and thus work (in your material actions) to create a world-situation where this is a possibility...

Woodscall, what do you consider acheivement?
Why does this contradict? please explain.

krishna, i agree whole heartedly but basically, living life to make the world a more just place would be for our entertainment! for people like us, and of the like mind!
as long as you are having fun doing what you are doing, and achieving what you wish to achieve!

Everybody's idea of achievement is different, and here you are saying:
Quote:
As a professional wanderer, you can leave your programmed cubicle to the conglomerate, that mind numbing data entry for this and that mortage blah, ...and experience life.
Living should not be limited to 2 week paid vacations and select holidays.
I know that I want more out of a lengthy (time consuming) experience than a raise.
I really do understand what you're saying about yourself, but who cares if somebody enjoys something you don't? He may get just as much satisfaction out of his career than you do of being a wanderer.
In essence you just said that a corporate-type job strays you from the path of "real living." I would think you'd be able to recognize that all humans are differnt, and from each one a separate idea of achievement and happiness emerges.
I love my job, I really do. I am not materialistic, but working gives me a sense of satisfation; that raise you talk about is money, yes, but it is something tangible to show the dedication I have put forth.
My achievements in the spiritual arena help to balance the appreciation I get from seeing a job well-done, the "materialistic" side of me. I'm here to live in the real world. To put it in terms you may understand (even tho I'm not a firm believer in the stars): I'm a pisces. Yes my head may be in the clouds, but at least the tips of my toes are touching the ground.
Quote:
I suppose it depends on what you hope to acheive out of this life.
But as for the rest of your post, much love
edit: maybe I'm in too serious a mood to be in the Pub

I guess where i was actually going with that, was in essence, a rant about my sister and my brother in law.
they are very wealthy, working for GM and the spartan corp... but always complaining to me about how they are unfufilled and are not satisfied with their routines. they complain about how they have dug the hole too deep to get out of though.
they are constantly trying to find ways to drown their unhappiness. through materials and personal control, over their family and one another.
they both work in those little cubicles i was referring too, and they consider my philosophy a breathe of fresh air. i was just trying to blow some of this mentality towards people who wanted this wind to hit them.
another reason i posted about that imparticular, is because in recent threads of the past 2 days, i have heard shroomerites complaining about their degrees, that is it getting them no where...how they are unhappy...etc...this thread was just a rant.
i didnt mean to say that the corporate workforce is wrong, what was meant of it, was to influence those who are in it, that are unhappy...that they arent stuck (if this is how they may feel)
thanks for the reply. we all need some constructive critism once in a while

what it boils down to is the more money you make, the more money you spend, and the more bills you have to pay.
