How Exactly Do You...

Pressure cook mushroom substrate?

1/2 pint jars, verm/brf mix, 910 All American PC.

Sadly, there are no instructions for pressure cooking mushroom substrate in my users manual. The directions for canning other things are 1-2 inches water and quart jars. I don't know if verm/brf is "acidic food" or "low-acid food." I am confuzzled. I have read the instructions for use and everything. PC 15 psi for 45 minutes. I was gonna use six 1/2 pint jars if that matters. Thank you.

How much water do you suggest, also, how loud are pressure cookers? I don't want to wake up my neighbors...:(

it shouldn't wake up your neighbors. Fill the water level half way up to 1/2 pint jar. The more water u have in the less heat u will need once you get to 15 psi.
