A little advice on casing?
    #4424681 - 07/19/05 07:45 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

Its my first grow and jars are almost 100% colonized so I figured it was time to ask...
I have some exremely dry hpoo right outside, but I cant pasteurize, only sterilize...so my question is: Should I use the hpoo without doing anything to it, or should I use a 50/50 casing that has been sterilized?

Why can't you pasteurize?

for one, even though ive read the tek, ill probably mess it up and i dont want to because its my first grow, and secondly, i dont want any unwanted questions if possible, and pasteurizing would lead directly to this.

get a Coleman camping stove and do it in the woods?

If you don't wanna mess it up you'd do well to do it right.

would be funny to do it in the woods, but that would probably be my last choice, anyway I guess ur saying its much more worth it to use hpoo?

"If you don't wanna mess it up you'd do well to do it right." im sure that makes sense but I just cant understand it for some reason.

It means that pasteurization of your chosen bulk substrate will save you a lot of contamination misery from what I've heard.

Hpoo comes highly recommended, yes. I'm gonna be tracking myself down some over this coming weekend.

if yur not doing a large amount you can sterilize hpoo. spawn it in a glove box, and keep it sealed in plastic bag until colonized.

another alternative, outdoor grow.
