Can a TiT be too wet?

I noticed that my tyvek layer had condensation on the bottom of it when I disposed of my last bad cakes and was wonderig if my TiT is the reason why I am getting contams 100% rate. There is never any condensation inside the inner tub but the inside of the outer tub (which is much bigger than the inner) is always dripping wet so I imagine that the RH is very high in the inner tub. I use tyvek+polyfil+verm layer and still contam 100%; however, I have never seen a bacterial contamination on my watch.
Can a TiT be too humid? Could a low air exchange rate cause contams?

it sounds like you are having a temp control problem if there is condensation on the outside.
as for the contam rate, double check your procedures for everything

You can lower the RH by adding more water, or using less perlite. The total wet perlite surface area is what provides the humidity.

TiT as in the incubator version? The inside tub where your jars are should have no water in it so there should be no real humidity unless of course a large amount of moisture is escaping from ya jars?

Well not if the jars are properly sterilised and you have an adequate cover over them in the TIT, Im too cheap to buy proper jars so i use wider wouth glasses, with two layers of foil over then and i leave the foil on inside the TIT until they are 100% colinised. So i dont think mine would be getin awesome air exhange, and i have not yet had a contam, touch wood.

Excellent pic clearing up my confusion about wet tits
Now, the inner tub is completely enclosed inside the outer tub. The inner tub is an 8gal floating in something like an 18gal outer tub. The lid is on the outertub so it looks like a normal storage tub sitting there. This is why I suspect that it is humid inside the innertub since it isn't sealed or anything, the evaporated water from the outertub is probably making it humid in the innertub. Am I correct in thinking this? Is this setup contam prone?
