Mycelium, active ingredients? Bruised?
    #4421871 - 07/19/05 03:06 AM (11 years, 4 months ago)

I have heard that the mycelium contains the same active ingredients as the mushrooms. Does it have less or the same? also another quick question, If the fruits are bruised a little blueish, and not contaminated are they still worth eating or should they be tossed out? thank you

haha yea the cakes contain Psilocybin, and in theory you could eat the cakes...kinda wasteful in my opinion but ya know, its their. and bluish bruised fruits are fine, don't worry about those lol, Psilocybe cubensis bruises blue when oxidized, just the way it is.
Take care

a good way to tell if coloring is a contam or not is to lightly roll a q tip over said area. if nothing comes off, you should be fine.

The myc contains less actives than the fruit bodies. Though I have seen one study where azure myc was only slightly lower than cube fruits. I have some azure spawn from the FSRE that I have yet to grow out on grain, I plan on eating it, grain and all.

Dude, when they bruise blue that's a sign of potency. You should be glad they're blue. lol

well sounds good,  bruising very blue.  I would rather not eat the cakes, trying to ingest as little of the grain as possible.  But im a very impatient guy ,  i may have to

na I wouldn't do that. The cakes have vermiculite in them right? That's rock. You wouldn't want your intestines blocked up with rock would you. I heard surgery is required for that.

If you simply must be impatient then at least shake up the cake in cranberry juice and then strain it out with a coffee filter then drink that.

Be safe dude!
