Different strains = different color mycelium?
    #4421400 - 07/19/05 12:39 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

Well, not really a different color so much as a different tone of white.

I just knocked up some jars a week ago, 2 different stains. One of them, Pesa (which I have worked with in the past) is a very bright white. The second, Creeper (which I have never worked with), has a weeker color of white. More of an off white color.

Has anyone noticed anything like this before?

Different substrains. The same strain can have multiple types of mycelium, from jar to jar, or even within the jar. It should always be a shade of white though.

I've noticed this too between thai strains and non-thai strains, also between substrate mediums.
