Okay, so I've had some watermelon growing for a little over a month now and they're doing healthy. Only 1 of the plants have started to develop an actual watermelon. Its a bit larger than a golfball, but today I noticed that this brown disease or something it eating it away. Now it looks like im left with no melons gorwing..... just plants. And also, the plants quit producing female flowers, only males so now I have nothing to pollinate.
I'm wanting to try again, in a more clean environment, but it's a little too late in the season now. My only choice is to build a greenhouse.
I was wondering exactly how a greenhouse works. Can it be used year round? How do the plants keep from freezing in the winter?
And also, does anyone know why my plants quit producing female flowers??
