I've heard different thigns about casings. I've heard some people say that you shouldn't cook your casing, and some say that you should. What exactly does the casing doa anyways? PLease let me know if you know.!

like i've already checked this....

if u use coco coir, then you should not cook or sterili. it, coz it is already steril enough to case.
if u use earth (flower earth), then you should sterili. coz, there may be some insects eggs etc. inside...

well, i have already started my first casing, with coco, and it works out good - what means a wonder - coz i'm also still a newbie *lol*

casing provides moisture for your substrate and provides a greater surface area for you mushies to grow on. the basic jist is putting your cakes between two wet layers of dirt, then the myc grows through the top layer, providing a srtonger myc network and hence, more mushies.
i pasturize my casing, you put it in an old pillowcase and then boil it for an hour, see rychhawks tek on this site

i wanna see another Shaquile O'Neal movei
