Kola (cola) nut is a caffeine-containing nut from an African tree. I have read that Coca-Cola's original recipie got its flavoring from kola nut and its pep from coca.>>Hence the name. I've never tried it though. If you watch Cheech and Chong's "Still Smokin," when they are at the cafe in Amsterdam...one of the dishes has chopped kola nut. Hope this helps ya a little.
