Spores falling into the casing can screw up the pins I read in TMC, therefore harvest.

tissue cloning seems a tad bit more advanced than taking a sterile print, but go ahead and do what you think you're capable of, by all means.
the grain got exposed? yes that seems fine, in fact, I have two new casings where I used straight coir that are pinning like mad.

To make my prints, which turned out sterile so far, I nuked index cards on a large plate in the microwave for 5 minutes, tossed a fresh cap on each, and placed an alcohol-wiped, up-side-down, large bowl over the whole thing and put it in a draft-free area for 24 hours.
When they were done, I lifted the edge of the bowl, folded them in half, and then taped up the edges to seal the prints, all done quickly under the bowl.
