Mushroom Odor...

A FOAF was planning on growing in his closet, however he has a live in landlord whom he would rather not be aware of his project...

He was wondering, how strong is the smell from a smallish (10 gal) terrarium with maybe a couple casings in it?

This would most likely be inside a larger cardboard box, would this be sufficient to contain the odor?

the only time you will really smell anything is when you fan them.. and even then the smell doesn't really linger.

I find that the only time it smells bad is when you crumble the cakes to put into casings.. even then.. if you've never crumbled cakes or smelt cakes then you wont know what the hell that smell is. its not noticeable like marijuana drying..

If the land lord smells anything at all, he'll probably dismiss it as some sort of natural funk.
