If you had some spore prints done on tin foil but were not sure if they were sterile how could you try to use them? What is the best method of trying to make something. Can peroxide decontaminate a syringe made from unsterile spores?
Peroxide will kill the spores. I would recommend using a very dilute spore solution. Go for the centre of the print, since if the cap was sitting in a dirty room there will be more contams at the edges. Also more likely handled at the edges. Proper way to work with it is agar. Other wise you could innoc several jars with small amounts of grain/pf mix. If you get good growth you can transfer it to a bigger jar, or inject sterile water and suck back up some myc in soution.
